Scott's work sent an email Friday afternoon, about 3pm, that there was a free APS employee day at the Challenger Space Center. My only guess was they waited so long for a little crowd control. We sprang at the chance to go for free.
It was a fun place. We found dress up areas
We found a vapor station
We found some cool displays
I have to admit, we were ready to leave about 30 min. into the visit. Luckily, we ran into a tour guide and things totally went uphill from there!
We were taken through a series of stations to mimic an actual space mission and thing the astronauts do to prepare. There is Madison making some very important scientific discoveries...
The Campbells at Mission Control...Scary!!!
Huge rubber gloves and putting something in something...
Madison and Emmalee's turn...
Remote control robotics...
At the end of our visit we visited this totally cool solar system room. The planets were projected on the wall. If you moved your arms just right, you could trap a planet and a screen would pop up giving facts about that planet.
My personal favorite was the 3D Mars photos. I got to wear these cool glasses :0)
